Searching Within Parts of a Page

: Searches within the title tags.

Filetype Search

Time-Based Search

: Shows results that are newer than the specified date. You can use year, month, and day formats (YYYY, YYYY-MM, YYYY-MM-DD).

: Shows results that are older than the specified date. Same date formats apply as in after:

Proximity Search
AROUND(X)
: Can be used between two words, with X representing the maximum amount of words that you want to allow between the two.

Specialized Search
define:
: Looks up the definition of a word.
stocks:
: Gives information about stocks when followed by a ticker symbol.
book:
: Can be followed by a book title to get information about the book.

: Searches for music-related information.

: Gives the current weather for a specified location.

Numerical Range Search
numrange:
: Used to locate specific numbers in your search. Use two periods without spaces (..) to represent an inclusive range of numbers.
- Example:

Logical Operators
AND
: Shows results where both terms on either side of the AND operator are present. AND
must be in upper case. Google search defaults to using AND
between terms if no other operator is specified.
- Example:
apple AND banana
OR
: Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. OR
must be in upper case.
- (minus sign)
: Excludes results containing the term that follows the -
operator.
